So as much as I don’t want to admit it, Summer is coming
to an end and everyone is getting into “back to school mode”. For us it just
means less sun, and with both of us having pasty white skin it is probably for
the best. LOL
But, it also means that we can look forward to all the
new Fall trends coming our way. Most stores will already be switching over so
you may have noticed some of these trends while perusing your favourite
shopping destinations.
Here are our favourite top 5 trends for Fall 2013:
Outerwear
Don’t be afraid to push your boundaries with this one,
but oversized seems to be the key. Fur, leather, fur and leather; lots of texture
and even colour is ok here. I love a good cape and as luck may have it they are
back on trend this season as well so if you dig the sophisticated elegance a
cape can add to your outfit add one to your outerwear collection.
Traditional Menswear Fabrics
I love menswear so when I read that traditional menswear fabrics were making their way into our hearts I got super excited. Get ready to
look super awesome while still maintaining a very professional look at work
with such prints as tweed, herringbone and houndstooth.
Emerald Green
I may dye my hair red but as an honorary red head I must
say that this is going to be a must buy trend for me, because what red head
doesn’t look stunning in emerald green?
Get out there and buy a hat…and actually wear it! I know
I absolutely love hats but I tend to be the person that buys them and then
never wears them, so this season I am going to dust a couple off and rock them
around town. Plus they could save me a lot of time on a bad hair day!
Leather
Most of us probably already have leather in our wardrobe
but perhaps as an accessory or shoes or even as a jacket (which also helps for
the outerwear trend). But if you want to really get into this trend think
bigger, go out and buy yourself a pair of leather pants! Now the thought of
leather pants actually makes me short of breath so if you are anything like me
there are plenty of dresses out there that have leather accents!
I love fall in Vancouver with the bright blue sky, crisp
air, and golden trees so I can’t wait to layer up and take a walk around
Stanley Park wearing some of the above must haves!
